Our Jam events have been a wonderful success and we have raised over £2000 for local charity projects through the fantastic turnout from our community who came and climbed, pushing their own limits for ‘one more send’ that helped raise these brilliant amounts.
We will do it all again on Friday 27th May with a brand new set of 25 problems for you all to come and climb and raise some more funds for our next local charity. This is the last JAM at London Fields until September. We will be moving it up to Tottenham Hale for the Summer with more news coming soon on that.
This time we will be raising funds for Sparrows . This Hackney based charity is a self-help disability registered charity. They aim to promote and raise disability and equality awareness, encourage integration, and help disabled people with their individual needs to realise their potential. They use wheelchair sports and mainly wheelchair basketball to help the most excluded people with a disability come out of isolation and take on a healthy lifestyle through wheelchair sports and ultimately become more active members of the community by building self-confidence, gaining skills and participate competitively in training and league competitions
To find out more information about all the work they have been doing or if you wish to volunteer; please visit Sparrows WBC website
Once again we will have a live DJ in the centre, 25 brand new problems (v0-v7) and raffle giveaways for all those that take part. The event will start at 6pm (but you can come in before that to climb and register) and go on till closing time at 1030. We will provide the problems and all you need to do is provide the sends / tops. For every top you manage of the 25 problems we will donate 50p to our chosen charity. The more people who climb and send = the more money we will donate : )
The event really is open to any climber no matter what their grade. The problems will all be in the V0-V7 range with most of the problems being under V5. The event is a time for you to climb with friends, or meet new ones, during a fun sociable evening with good tunes and fresh new climbs around the centre.
Each climber will pay £3 to register for the event (all this is donated to the charity too) and normal entry fee applies to enter the centre. We will track sends through the Griptonite app again. This is the same app we use as part of our Stronghold Tottenham Hale Spring Comp series so many of you will be used to how to log your tops.
