As we start 2021, still in the grips of the Coronavirus pandemic, we want to bring a little bit of brightness and look forward to better days. As soon as we are allowed to reopen we will be welcoming you to the brand new Stronghold – bigger and better than ever before.

So what to expect? Well if you have been following our social media then you will have seen some of the images already.

One of the features we are really proud of is the reusing and recycling of as many wall panels as possible from the old Ashley Road site. Not only is it good to reuse and recycle these perfectly good panels, we also wanted to not just say goodbye to the old wall and with bringing these across we will always have an anchor to our original site. We are reusing all of our matting too but because to the size of the new venue, we’ve had to get more made to fit.

We’ve also taken inspiration from our original site and rebuilt the circuit board and 45 wall. The 45 wall will be updated with a brand new set from Hardwood holds and the whole board will be digital – meaning you can create your own problems to come back to, or try other peoples creations, all at the touch of a button on the accompanying iPad. The circuit board will continue to have its normal high quality routes for you to train on with the very first set having guest setter Emma Twyford onsite to work her magic.

As well as the climbing and training areas we will also have a dedicated retail space, where the team will be able to talk you through all climbing shoe options, clothing and other merchandise. There will be a beautiful cafe space for you to relax in.

The other big difference is that the new Stronghold will be one floor up! The new building we are in will have a bar and event space on the ground floor that, in non Covid times, will offer a great place to relax post climbing. Being one floor up also allows the site to get incredible natural light streaming through the windows. This will be a beautiful sight when climbing at sunset.

This bigger space will allow us to increase our maximum capacity numbers during Covid times, meaning more available bookings slots per day.

We look forward to welcoming you to our new Tottenham Hale site. We’ll continue to upload new images on our instagram page and we’ll post more here on our website about angles, gym space and opening dates as we get closer to the big day.
